Youth

youth

Our youth group has many exciting activities and opportunities for young people to make friends, grow in their faith and serve alongside the adults in the church even with Covid.  As we don't have many young people most of our youth work is joint with HBC Chester.

School year 7 to 9
We can join with HBC youth after the live feed on most 1st and 3rd Sundays. We get the opportunity to be creative and get involved in content for Overflow Church and HBC live feeds. See below for the video we made. HBC is running youth activities from their building in Hoole, but booking is essential due to Covid. Please click here to go to the HBC website and discover everything we can join in with.

One of the activities we join with HBC in is Wildfire. Wildfire runs on a Wednesday night and is a place where we have fun together and learn about God. We really do all feel like a family and there is always a warm welcome for more youth. We also have Youth Worship, where anyone can come and express themselves with God and have a safe place to grow with God. There is also YouthX where youth from across Chester and Cheshire come together to worship God and get inspired.

We also have an annual weekend away when all ages from a range of Chester Youth Groups come together and have a great time. Our heart for young people is to grow in the faith and relationship with God. At the moment we hang out with the kids, we prophecy, play games, have fun and build a relationship with God. However we would welcome the opportunity to start a Youth Group in Winsford where we can connect and learn about God and feel like a family. We also have members of HBC youth group that come to Storehouse Church to lead us in worship, take the meeting and hang out. They are all really friendly and easy to hang out with and we will all welcome you into Gods family hear at Storehouse and HBC youth. We hope you come and add the family!

School year 10 to year 13
Year 10 to 13s stay in the main meeting, there's no pressure to get involved however if this is something you are interested in there are lots of opportunities to get stuck in whether that is in worship, helping with kids and youth or helping to serve with setting up etc.  We regularly get some young people from HBC to lead worship or contribute as part of the preach in our main meeting.

We feel it is important that as young person you get to meet others of a similar age and attend events that are specifically for your age range.  So our plan for this is to join with activities run by HBC, from our mid week group called TNT, to the monthly, Chester wide, youth meeting called YTHX.
